This brought me right back to my days at St. Michael's and the smell of the bathroom, and the raising the hand to go to the bathroom, and the pervasive feeling of unease. I would never have dared such an escapade but I would have rooted for you and your friend!

Ann, I loved this escape story. I was also one of those rule abiding kids, however never had the guts to break free until I was an adult! Too bad, my life would have been rather different if I had broken free earlier. Now I am always breaking rules, fighting against the status quo when, specially when I see pain and injustice-- something there is way too much of. But that rule abiding kid did learn something about breaking down the rules in ways I won't get in trouble.
